I feel fortunate to have been blessed with a wonderful circle of friends and family. While
the men in my life hold a very special place in my heart, it is by "my girls" of all ages that I
am constantly inspired. These women, from every chapter of my life, have shared with
me their unique and precious gifts. As individuals, they embody many different virtues
that, through their example, they challenge me to emulate. However, like so many other
women, they are exceptional in their strength and beauty.
The concept for In Her Element jewelry began with a desire to create custom pieces
for each of these special ladies. In that process, I found that, much like the women
themselves, no two pieces were exactly alike. Each involved different stones or crystals,
colors or textures, in effect, building on their different elements.
The journey to this creative destination began with a little girl's love of her grandmother's
adornments and the many stories behind each piece. The path has included many twists
and turns along the way. After spending 15 years in the financial industry, spending time
in New York, London, Chicago and Southern California, I found the long hours and near
constant travel to be incompatible with my desire to build the type of close-knit family life
that I enjoyed as a child. Armed with an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an
innate love for art and design, I have found a true passion for jewelry design.
